Todd Allen elected to ANS Board of Directors

Fastest Path director will help shape the future of nuclear science and technology through national leadership role.

Todd Allen, director of the Fastest Path to Zero Initiative, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Nuclear Society (ANS). Beginning June 19, 2025, Allen will serve a three-year term as a Board Member-at-Large.

The American Nuclear Society is the leading organization for professionals in nuclear science and technology. As a Board Member-at-Large, Allen will contribute to the Society’s strategic leadership, representing a diverse community of scientists, engineers, and policy leaders.

“I appreciate my peers giving me a second term on the ANS Board,” said Todd. “This is an exciting  opportunity at one of the most exciting times for nuclear energy in decades.”

At Fastest Path, Allen works at the intersection of advanced nuclear technology and community partnership. His election to the ANS Board highlights the growing importance of socially informed innovation and collaborative approaches to decarbonization.

Allen also serves as chair of the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences at the University of Michigan and directs the Michigan Memorial Phoenix Project. Across all his roles, he has championed a vision of energy systems that are sustainable and informed by the communities they serve.
