Learn about STAND and other nuclear tools at upcoming webinar
Experts will demonstrate nuclear energy modeling tools, including STAND, to help states assess siting options for advanced nuclear deployment at the NARUC-NASEO webinar on March 21.
State energy regulators and policymakers interested in advanced nuclear energy development will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge infrastructure siting tools during the upcoming NARUC–NASEO Advanced Nuclear State Collaborative (ANSC) webinar on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 1–2pm ET.
This free, public webinar, Nuclear Energy Modeling Tools for States, will feature live demonstrations of key siting and modeling tools designed to support decision-making around advanced nuclear deployment. Attendees will gain insights into how these tools can help assess site suitability, infrastructure compatibility, and energy system integration for next-generation nuclear projects.
The webinar will highlight several tools that provide insights for energy planning:
- OR SAGE (Oak Ridge Siting Analysis for Power Generation Expansion) – A tool developed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory that assists in evaluating potential sites for new power generation projects.
- STAND (Siting Tool for Advanced Nuclear Development) – Developed by Fastest Path and the National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC), this tool helps identify suitable locations for advanced nuclear power plants. Fastest Path’s Gabrielle Hoelzle will lead this portion of the presentation.
