Take the Nuclear Workforce Survey for Improving Student Experiences to help ensure that the nuclear field becomes more inclusive and supportive for everyone.
At the Fastest Path to Zero Initiative, we are supporting global efforts to create a more inclusive and diverse nuclear workforce. As part of these efforts, our team member, Assistant Professor Aditi Verma, co-chairs Working Group 1 of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) Global Forum on Nuclear Education, Science, Technology, and Policy. This group is focused on closing the gender gap in nuclear technology and academic workforces, and we’re excited to share an important opportunity for all students and recent graduates in the nuclear field to make their voices heard.
Members of the Working Group created a taskforce, led by Verma, which has launched the “Nuclear Workforce Survey for Improving Student Experiences“ to gather insights from current students and recent graduates in the nuclear field. The goal of the survey is to better understand individuals’ experiences in nuclear education and identify how institutions can create more welcoming environments for people from all backgrounds.
This survey is open to anyone who is currently a student in the nuclear field or has graduated within the last 20 years. The term “nuclear field” includes nuclear science and engineering, as well as related areas such as law, policy, and education. Your feedback will help shape future recommendations to ensure the nuclear field becomes more inclusive and supportive for everyone.
By taking part in this survey, you’ll be helping to build a better future for the nuclear industry—one that fosters diversity and inclusion in every aspect. Your anonymous responses will contribute to recommendations that will inform policies and practices for years to come.
We encourage you to share this survey with your peers, colleagues, and networks to ensure that as many voices as possible are heard. The survey is open until November 30, 2024. For any questions or for further information, you can reach the NEA Global Forum team at gf-wg1@oecd-nea.org.
